We are looking for an experienced Senior Control Software Engineer to lead the development of advanced control systems for our autonomous vehicle platform. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the behavior and performance of our self-driving technology.

Locations

  • San Jose, California, US (Salary Range: $75k—$400k USD)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of complex control algorithms for autonomous vehicle systems.
  • Oversee the integration of control software with other subsystems, including perception, planning, and hardware interfaces.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the control software team.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation of control systems in both simulated and real-world environments.
  • Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in control software development, preferably in the automotive or robotics industry.
  • Strong understanding of control theory, vehicle dynamics, and system modeling.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python programming languages.
  • Familiarity with real-time heterogeneous systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferences

  • Proven track record in leading the development of control systems for autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicles.
  • Deep expertise in nonlinear and robust control strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing environments.
  • Contributions to published research in control systems, vehicle dynamics, or robotics.
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications in control systems.
