We are seeking a skilled Control Software Engineer to join our autonomous vehicle development team. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement control algorithms for our self-driving cars, ensuring safe and efficient vehicle operation.

Locations

  • San Jose, California, US (Salary Range: $75k—$300k USD)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement control algorithms for vehicle dynamics, including steering, acceleration, and braking systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate control software with perception, planning, and hardware systems.
  • Conduct simulations and real-world testing to validate and refine control strategies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems in autonomous vehicles.
  • Maintain documentation for control software designs and updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python.
  • Strong understanding of control theory and vehicle dynamics.
  • Experience with simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Familiarity with real-time heterogeneous systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferences

  • Experience with Model Predictive Control (MPC) or Adaptive Control algorithms.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols like CAN, LIN, or FlexRay.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing environments.
  • Experience in developing software compliant with ISO 26262 or other automotive safety standards.
  • Strong background in numerical optimization techniques.
