The weather team works cross-functionally to develop technologies that ensure safe autonomous driving in all weather conditions. We're seeking skilled data scientists to help us overcome the challenges of adverse weather.

Responsibilities

  • Develop data driven tools to analyze and utilize weather data, particularly focusing on adverse weather scenarios.
  • Define and evaluate metrics of autonomous driving performance under different weather conditions.
  • Enhance machine learning model performance within the defined Operational Design Domain (ODD) to ensure the safe operation of autonomous vehicles in adverse weather conditions.
  • Collaborate with engineers from sensor fusion, perception, and simulation teams to implement and enforce restricted weather Operational Design Domains (ODDs).

Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in data science, machine learning, computer science, applied mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience with developing and implementing machine learning models for predictive analysis, pattern recognition, and decision making under uncertainty.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and experience with machine learning frameworks.
  • Proficiency in SQL and working with large-scale data.
  • Excellent communication, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Preferences

  • Experience with autonomous vehicle technology or robotics.
  • Experience with machine learning based data analysis.
  • Experience working with weather data or climate models is a plus.
