Locations

  • San Jose, California, US (Salary Range: $75k—$300k USD)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and apply regulatory requirements and industry standards related to body and interior trim products. Ensure the implementation of these requirements throughout the design and production process.
  • Develop design guidelines based on regulatory analysis, industry best practices, and hands-on experience. Provide clear directives for modeling, engineering design, and material evaluation.
  • Oversee certification and testing activities for body and interior trim components, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulatory requrements.
  • Conduct research on body and interior trim systems, offering technical expertise and direction on project development and design engineering.
  • Perform patent investigations to identify potential conflicts, develop circumvention strategies, and support the preparation of new patent applications.
  • Define and enforce standards for body and trim system components, including quality benchmarks, key performance characteristics, and compliance with material and design specifications.

Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable in vehicle standards and regulations for body, interior, and exterior components, as well as supplier control processes, with the capability to lead and guide the development of project plans.
  • Over 5 years of experience in testing body, interior, and exterior components, with a strong understanding of the development process for these products.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Prior work experience with a major automotive OEM.
