Responsibilities

  • Develop hardware requirements for LiDAR based on safety standards and perception needs; analyze the impact of LiDAR hardware characteristics on perception; coordinate the development of LiDAR hardware and corresponding perception software to improve the LiDAR-based perception system.
  • Analyze potential LiDAR faults and the impact of window surface contamination, develop fault diagnosis requirements and solutions, and improve fault detection and response through system analysis and testing.
  • Analyze the impact of adverse weather conditions (sunlight, high and low temperatures, rain, fog, ice, etc.) on LiDAR, use LiDAR data to measure weather conditions, improve LiDAR performance under adverse weather, and propose countermeasures.
  • Develop testing requirements based on system requirements, coordinate testing with the testing team, analyze data, and provide test reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with more than five years of work experience, or master's degree with more than three years of work experience.
  • Strong background in physics and optics, with a deep understanding of LiDAR mechanisms, including transmission/reception mechanisms and signal processing algorithms.
  • Deep knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and signal processing.
  • Familiar with software development processes, proficient in using Python/MATLAB for modeling and data analysis, and able to read C/C++ code.
  • Strong technical communication skills and be a good team player.

Preferences

  • Experience in LiDAR development and usage.
  • Experience in perception software development and machine learning.
  • Experience in the autonomous driving industry.
